The Vail Nordic Center is Closed for the 2011-12 Season  

When snow blankets the Vail Golf Club, it becomes the full-service Vail Nordic Center. Glide along 17 kilometers of daily-groomed skate and classic track, or snowshoe on 10 kilometers of scenic trail. The exceptional staff offers lessons and clinics on technique and tuning for adults and children, and a wide variety of rental equipment is available. The Nordic Center also serves as one-stop shopping for backcountry needs including clothing, backpacks and snowshoes. An evening race series as well as larger weekend events offer opportunities for competition.  Happy Valley Grill features a light lunch menu from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday, plus hot soups, drinks and snacks for skiers, served Monday through Thursday.

The Nordic Center , which is owned and operated by Mia Stockdale and Shane Sluder, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily November through April, weather permitting. Nordic users enjoy:

• On-site rentals for skate and classic skiing, plus backcountry skis and snowshoes
• Daily lessons for classic and skate skiing
• A full service retail shop featuring a variety of merchandise for outdoor endurance sports, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, running, hiking, as well as Nordic ski equipment.

Day use and season pass prices are as follows:

• $8 day fee
• $90 Adult Season Pass
• $80 Vail Resident Pass
• $50 Student Season Pass (scholarships available)
• Children under 12 are free

The Nordic Center track is maintained and groomed daily by the Vail Recreation District.
