Drop in (literally) at the Vail Skatepark, located on the top level of the LionsHead parking structure. It’s free and open to the public, summer through fall, dawn to dusk. Youth, ages seven to 14, can join skateboard clinics from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays throughout the summer. Private lessons also are available. Helmets are required. Knee pads and wrist guards are recommended.

Learn to skateboard at the Vail Skatepark with instructors who will teach everything from basic skills and etiquette to perfecting a boardslide or kickflip. Skateboarding classes take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays, June 15 to Aug. 17. Cost per clinic is $25 or $20 for Vail Recreation District and Eagle County residents. Purchase five sessions and costs are $20 and $15 respectively. Skateboards and helmets required, wrist guards and knee pads recommended.
