The Vail Tennis Center offers a slice of heaven: eight Har-Tru clay courts and four hard courts with the Gore Range as stunning backdrop. Open dawn to dusk Memorial Day weekend through September 30, a full-service pro shop rents racquets and courts, conducts private lessons and provides clinics for all ages. Throughout summer, VRD runs morning, evening and weekend play for Men, Women, Mixed Doubles and Men 60+, as well as week-long junior camps.

Junior Tennis          |          Ages 5 to 17    |    Information
Junior tennis programs take place in one-week sessions and offer lessons for ages five to 17. Children will be grouped by age level with a ratio of six students to one coach in each session. Costs are $65 per week or $60 per week for two weeks. Monday sessions are held at Ford Park and Tuesday through Friday sessions are held at Golden Peak.

New in 2010, the Tennis Center will offer three weeks of Youth Tennis Camps. The camps will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 12-16, Aug. 2-6 and Aug. 9-13. Camps are for ages six to teens and cost $160 for VRD residents and $185 for guests.

The Ford Park Tennis Center offers private instruction for ages five and older to include private sessions, semi-private sessions and clinics. Costs are as follows: 

2010 Bill Wright Tennis Tournament     |   July 30-Aug. 1    |         2009 Results
Each August the Ford Park Tennis Center hosts the annual Bill Wright Colorado Clay Court Open. The open is a U.S. Tennis Association-sanctioned event and draws players from across the region for the three-day competition. Divisions include men’s and women’s open, 35, 45, 55, 65, 75, singles, doubles and mixed.
