Directions | Youth Sports Registration
Children are children wherever they are: they love fun, they love to learn and they love to be with friends, old and new. VRD celebrates resident and visiting youth by providing top-notch facilities, which conduct camps, classes, leagues and events geared toward improvement at a sport, understanding our alpine environment, or just plain having fun. Join us!
KidZone School's Out Camp, March 22-26
For children ages five to 12, or grades kindergarten through fifth. Camp takes place at Red Sandstone Elementary School gymnasium with drop-off from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and pick-up from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $46 per student or $36 for Eagle County students. Spring break activities will include:
March 22: Ice Skating, Vail Sculpture Walk and Creating Sculptures
March 23: Swimming and Creating Kaleidoscopes
March 24: Sledding and Wood Working
March 25: Nordic Skiing and Snowshoeing, plus Painting
March 26: Gymnastics and Creating Boomerangs

School Year Programming
Discovery Bunch and Preschool Sports | Information | Registration Form
The weekly Discovery Bunch program takes place from 9 a.m. to noon on select weekdays throughout the school year and enables preschoolers to play, listen to stories, create art projects, sing songs and discover new experiences in a small, structured setting. Discovery Bunch activities are based on books read each week and relate to a daily theme. Preschool Sports can be added on from noon to 1:30 p.m. and includes lunch and either skating at Dobson Ice Arena or gymnastics at the Vail Gymnastics Center.

Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Friday, Beginning November 30, 2009
The Imagination Station, Vail's learning and discovery center, offers children ages two through 12 a wide array of hands-on science and art activities such as a black-light room where children can capture their shadows, toddler play area and "science of sound" exhibits. The Imagination Station, which is located above Subway in the LionsHead parking structure also offers a three hour drop off program for children ages three and older who are potty trained. Cost is $10 per child, per hour. Free 90-minute parking is available during the winter and free parking all summer long.

Martial Arts | Information
The Gymnastics Center partners with Master Mathew Bayley and the Vail Academy of Martial Arts to provide martial arts instruction for both children and adults.
Youth Hockey | Information
Dobson Ice Arena offers year-round ice hockey and figure skating classes and camps for ages four and older.
Summer Camps | Information
The VRD’s youth summer camps feature hands-on learning about the natural environment, adventure-packed days including rafting and caving, arts and crafts, plus golf, gymnastics, ice skating and more. All camps fill on a first-come, first-served basis and early registration is encouraged. Summer camps will return in June 2010. Check back in early 2010 for details.
Sports Camps | Online Registration | Information
Throughout the summer, the VRD hosts an array of youth sports camps including volleyball, lacrosse, golf, ice hockey, soccer, gymnastics, figure skating, baseball and basketball, plus sports training camps. Additionally, during the spring and fall, the VRD manages a youth soccer league for ages four through 13. Summer sports camps will return in June 2010, check back then for details.
Youth Mountain Bike Racing | Ages 8 and Older | Information | Online Registration
The VRD offers children eight and older an opportunity to race in its Youth Mountain Bike Race League. Races take place on select Wednesdays throughout the summer and allow children to race with some of the best racers in the Vail Valley and beyond. Youth mountain bike racing will return in May 2010.
Skateboard Clinics | Information
Children ages seven to 14 can learn or refine their skateboarding skills at the Vail Skatepark, located on top of the LionsHead parking structure during the summer. Clinics take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays throughout the summer. Cost is $25 or $20 for Vail residents. Skateboard and helmets required, wrist guards and kneepads recommended. Skateboard clinics will resume in June 2010.
