The VRD’s youth summer camps feature hands-on learning about the natural environment, adventure-packed days including rafting and caving, arts and crafts, plus golf, gymnastics, ice skating and more. All camps fill on a first-come, first-served basis and early registration is encouraged. Registration opens April 2. No online registration available.

2012 Schedule
Extreme Camp Vail takes place Fridays throughout the summer and offers ages eight to 13 adventure-packed days including inflatable kayaks, a trip to the Glenwood Caverns, a high-ropes and zip-line challenge and indoor skydiving to name a few. $2 off every day reserved and paid for by May 31.

Camp Eco Fun offers children, ages four to six and seven to eleven, hands-on learning about the natural environment at the Vail Nature Center, plus crafts and activities that support the weekly ecological theme. 

Location: Golden Peak Children's Center and Vail Nature Center
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
$10 Registration Fee Includes a T-shirt
2-Day               $100 for Outside Guests or $80 VRD & Eagle County Students
*Core Corps     $90 for Outside Guests or $75 Eagle County Students /$70 VRD
*Core Corps must reserve five or more sessions by April 27

Hawks

Mad Scientists will allow children to explore topics to a depth rarely achieved with elementary-age children. The VRD has chosen different topics to help young scientists gain a better understanding of how the world works. Children will experiment, build, discuss, revise and learn. Topics include rockets, buoyancy, engineering and more.

Times: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Limit: 14 children - 7:1 ratio
Cost:  $50 includes a $15 materials fee each day
